Branson's Best Cleaning Service has Big Changes for 2011

With the first month of the year already half over, Brokate Janitorial has set their sights on several large projects that will help the company to provide even better service to new and existing customers throughout the Springfield , Branson , Tri-Lakes Missouri areas.

"There is a lot more that goes into providing the highest level of cleaning service than most people think. Beyond having the right chemicals, equipment, staff and training for an account; there are endless things both small and large that make a service great. Things like customer communication, quality control programs, total building maintenance solutions and advanced planning all go into providing a service that takes the headaches away from clients when it comes to having a clean building." said Cheyne Brokate, Operations Manager for Brokate Janitorial.

Citizen's Academy Welcomes Resident Involvement in Branson Government

Photobucket
Over the past few months, Brokate Janitorial's own Office Manager, Jeremy Brokate, took part in Branson's Citizens Academy.  The class is an 8-week course designed to showcase the various departments of the city and learn how each one operates to keep the city functioning. The course allows citizens to ask and learn how each department operates and integrates plenty of hands-on experiences to make the course not only educational, but fun as well. Through this course, Jeremy was able to tour the Branson Police Station, Water Treatment Plants and Water Tower, Fire Department, Recycling Center and Rec-Plex/Parks Department, Finance Department, Engineering and Planning and Zoning Departments and the City Hall, Courts and Clerk Department. Each department welcomed questions and comments from the  class participants showing just how open and transparent Branson's City Government really is.

Work to polish our procedures and methods to ensure the best job is getting done every time. A clean building means a clean image, and the ability to look in the mirror proudly each and every day is the surest sign of success and happiness."

Brokate Janitorial's new mission statement has been created with a purpose. From every level of our growing janitorial company, we have devoted ourselves to improving the way office cleaning is performed and perceived. It is certainly true that there are many other great janitorial companies that exist around the United States. In fact, Brokate Janitorial communicates regularly with many other companies around the United States that belong to the Global Cleaning Association to discover new ideas, products and methods for everything cleaning related. It's important to have a network of peers to gather together to implement best practices for handling things like the H1N1 Influenza, learning new ways to clean "green" while not driving up costs and how to give customers the most "Bang for their Buck."

Brokate Janitorial hopes to continue to service more and more businesses in Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Branson and Hollister areas that are looking for both quality and value. Spring to Action! What Springfield, Ozark, Nixa and Branson Businesses need to do NOW!

It's officially Spring, and every good cleaning company knows what that means! No, not Spring Cleaning, but baseball season. You see while many individuals and companies see Spring as a chance to focus on cleaning things up a bit, Brokate Janitorial works around-the-clock, all year long to prevent that need for "Spring Cleaning."

Instead, we are able to continue to "Play Ball" in our facilities for both our day and night cleans. Baseball season, however, is something we can definitely get excited about. While I won't speak on behalf of everybody at Brokate Janitorial, I can say that many look forward to rooting for both the Springfield and St. Louis Cardinals and Albert Pujols for another season. Last year, we marveled along with all of baseball as Pujols finished his season batting .327 and hitting 47 home runs, proving yet again that he is one of the most consistent hitters in baseball. That equates to 186 hits out of 568 at-bats. That means that the best player in baseball failed to get a hit in his other 382 at-bats. While baseball players are afforded the luxury of being able to make mistakes day-in and day-out, many of us are not so lucky.

Each profession has a different margin of error. Some mistakes are far more costly than others, while some professions allow for a certain level of mistakes due to the complexity of the job. In the commercial cleaning industry, companies expect near perfection from the companies they hire to come to bat for them each night. Medical facilities need to be sterile for the next day's patients and offices need to be cleaned, dusted and ready for another day of taking care of business. Sales offices need clean areas for both themselves to mentally prepare for the next pitch, as well as any clients they may encounter face-to-face so that the focus can be on their product or service and not the cobwebs.

This is why establishing a clear "game plan" from the start is essential before ever stepping in the box(facility). While the margin of error is much smaller than baseball, cleaning companies need to be prepared for inevitable errors and mistakes. This is where the importance of having a good management team is essential. Like a batter struggling at the plate, a good cleaning company needs to have the proper oversight and direction to keep it's players doing the correct things, consistently.

A good manager knows how to utilize the strengths and weaknesses of each member of his team, which spots to use them in and when to bench them. Many of the decisions are not easy, but having management in place that takes action and continues to work towards improving the team each and every day, gives everybody the greatest chances of success.

How has your cleaning company adapted to your evolving needs?

If you feel your cleaning coming may be playing "small-ball" to your Big-League needs, give Brokate Janitorial a call at (417) 338-4809 to go to bat for you. Our players and management will give your stadium the home-field advantage every company needs!

A Tough Economy, an Even Tougher America

Another year has come and gone. For most people 2009 was a tough year that won't be missed. With unemployment rates very high across the nation, the economy in Southwest Missouri was feeling some of that impact too. Tourism was down, but not gone. A few companies went under, while many others made tough decisions on how to cut expenses and who to lay off. Yet many people remain hopeful and confident in our country to get back on it's feet and back into prosperity.

For Brokate Janitorial, 2009 was a year of milestones. This year Brokate Janitorial gained more business, hired more employee's and went into unchartered waters with new business ventures. All year, the focus of everybody within the company was keeping focused on the task at hand and doing our absolute best at it. We all have felt so fortunate to serve so many businesses in 417 Land and provide more and more families with a means to support themselves.

With so many more people in our area looking for work, trying to keep their businesses afloat, the importance of doing business locally cannot be understated. Not only will you be directly helping the businesses you choose to support, but in turn the dollars they receive will then be passed on to another local business. It's a ripple effect that could have tremendous ramifications if everybody did their part to help one another out.

After all, it's up to us individually and as a community to help each other out and not rely on our government to come to our rescue with handouts. Our company is an absolute believer in the American Dream and idea that anybody can succeed if they are willing to "roll-up their sleeves," not be afraid to get a little dirty and do what needs to be done.

According to Jeremy Brokate, Office Manager for Brokate Janitorial, this year's motto is "First and 10, let's do it again!" He goes on to explain, "We were very fortunate to have such a great year last year. We give all the praise and credit to the hard-working employees of our company that did such a great job in every facet of our business. We just want to keep that momentum going and inch closer to that goal."

Hopefully this nose-to-the-ground, never-give up attitude that is instilled in so many Americans can bring this nation back on its feet quickly and moving in the right direction again.

Costs vs Expenses vs Value

In these difficult economic times, cost and expenses are being looked at even closer than ever by individuals and businesses. How much is being spent on groceries? Insurance? Taxes? The kid down the street that mows the lawn. Those faced with a tight budget(or tightening budgets of their own to prepare for the worst) are constantly looking for ways to cut costs and expenses.

But what is cost, anyways? Most people think in terms of cost as a function of how much is spent from your pocket or checking account to obtain certain items or services. And indeed that is true...for the most part. Their is another side to cost that most people don't naturally think about in their day-to-day lives. This side of cost is the result of not buying a certain product/service or opting for an inferior product. While eliminating frivilous and unnecessary costs is always a prudent measure for improving ones overall bottom line and operating under a more responsible budget, many people can mistakenly go too far and cut "costs" that were indeed necessary and prudent.

When this happens, people and businesses experience an even greater cost later on. For example, if a company chooses to cut its landscaping and yard mowing services from its expenses an indirect result of that could be reduced business and traffic to their location because of the unsightly grass that gives the appearance of a rundown, ill-kept property. For Brokate Janitorial, we see this far too often with companies considering their janitorial and maintenance needs for their facilities. Often times a company will opt for the lowest bid regardless of other factors in hopes to keep costs low. What happens almost as often, however, is that we will get calls from these same companies down the road looking to fix the poor work done by other companies. This is not too suggest, however, that you should always go with the highest price either. You don't always get what you pay for, but the more you research and consider all factors the better your purchasing decision will be.

This past month we received a call from an account we had managed for 4-5 years and always kept happy and looking great. Last year they sent the services out for bid (per their requirements) and went with a lower PRICED (notice I didn't say COST)company. Not even 6 months had passed before they were removed from the building and we were called back in to fix the mess they had left us. The next day we received an email from the head of the building excited to see the instant improvement and look of their facility.

These are just a few small examples of the many ways that people can overlook the overall impact of choosing how to spend their time and money; which for businesses equates to the same thing. How the individuals of a company spend their time is directly related to how much money thier company makes. By focusing on what they do best, and leaving the rest to those more qualified, a company can operate with much greater efficiency and productivity.

If cost is a concern for your company, please contact Brokate Janitorial and we can help you receive the most value for your dollar. By properly maintaining your facility, Brokate Janitorial can extend the life and wear of your building for a MUCH lower cost in the long run.

Brokate Janitorial Moves into New Office in Downtown Branson

Brokate Janitorial is very excited to begin giving the city of Branson a public face and place to help the community. Despite serving the Ozarks for over 13 years, Brokate Janitorial has remained relatively unknown outside its' customers. Until recently, Brokate Janitorial gained new business solely through word-of-mouth and basic phone book listings. According to Cheyne Brokate, Operations Manager at Brokate Janitorial, many things have and will continue to change.

"In the last 5 years, we have really noticed both a need in the community and opportunity for our company to provide the highest level of cleaning service while maintaining a reasonable price. We have become more proactive in our approach and hope to help an even greater number of clients than we do today whether it be for nightly office cleaning, theatre cleaning, floor work or carpet care ."

The new office and focus of Brokate Janitorial seems to be just the start for the company.

"Branson is such a wonderful town, with such an eclectic mixture of businesses and people. While entertainment is perhaps the main staple of Branson, you can really see new businesses everyday opening up to cater to those who live in and around the Tri-Lakes area. We hope to be able to help not only new businesses as they come into town, but help as many businesses as we can as they continue to grow and change. What I'm really excited about, however, is our new commitment to helping the city through local organizations and charities. The city has been so good to us, we are looking forward to putting more attention on giving back" said Margie Brokate, Owner of Brokate Janitorial.

"We're all very excited about this next year and seeing what kind of difference we can make. Call it a New Year's resolution if you want, but we are viewing this as a whole new direction and attitude for us," commented Jason Brokate, Account Manager.

With all the uncertainty and pessimism surrounding the headlines today, Brokate Janitorial still feels very confident about its business and the Branson area and looks forward to another 13 years of service and beyond.

Preparing for an Ozarks Winter - Floor Care Style

Winter can be a hectic time of year for property managers. Making sure parking lots are cleared and sidewalks are salted can be a huge task. Keeping customers and employees safe is always top priority.

While keeping the outside of your facility snow and ice free can be a challenge in itself, did you also know that it can be extremely hard on the inside of your building, your floors and carpet specifically?

To prevent damage to your facilities hard surface flooring and carpets, it is important to implement a proactive floor care program.

A few tips to help protect your floors and customers:

1. Seal your floors before bad weather strikes.
2. Clear walkways and parking lots of excess sand and salt after the snow and ice melts.
3. Use plenty of walk off mats. It is recommended that you have mats in place for the first 10 steps inside a main entrance, and 5 steps in any secondary entrance.
4. Mats should be rubber on bottom and cloth on top.
5. Changes mats frequently. A wet mat is a useless mat.
6. Wet floor signs!
7. Always sweep and mop hard surfaces every night, and vacuum all traffic lanes daily.

Brokate Janitorial has the experience and knowledge to help you keep your facilities surfaces protected and looking their best, even in the worst situations. We have glowing references to back it up.

Our programs range from basic floor cleaning to complete preventative maintenance and care. There is a program for any budget.
